STUDY SAMPLE #3 DYNAMIC QUALITY (the force of change) INTERRUPTION (made discontinuous, followed not by the expected)
VIDEO LINK(as seen on home page) CONTENT Effort -Dynamic qualities according to Rudolf Laban's Effort Graph
Preparation -explanation of the various dynamic possibilities, practice of each separately Moving -exercising in duos: calling the qualities out loud to train responsiveness to changing when less expected. Noticing the speed of response and any difference between identifying/understanding the effort and embodying it. Paying particular attention to interruptions of flow, and what this produces in the dancer's movement and how they understand or follow their attention.
TASK - Dynamic Qualities
Instructions set for this task: “Use the memory of touch and dynamic choices to produce movement, changing the effort with which the response to the touch begins. Decide to stay with it until the next instruction, or to let it evolve”
Research Methodology: PaR; interview on: Dynamic qualities based on Laban theories Experimentation of designed exercises in the studio bringing awareness to efforts/dynamic qualities and to where changes occur Observation of the result of the exercise
