This prototype relates to my research of a fluid methodology for choreographic improvisation in dance.
It presents the first steps taken in the direction of study of a dialogue between movement and thought.

fluid methodology = intended to allow for adaptations, and meant as a set of guidelines for dancers to combine, follow or contradict.

Aim of this prototype:
-To give an insight to the methodology that will be developed
-To create a small archive from the gathered material
Objectives of this prototype:
-To practice a series of exercises through which the dancer collects tools to apply in the context of an improvisation
-To explore ways of documenting and communicating the work and findings to a reader
It is designed to give a taster of the research through 2 ASPECTS:
|
dancers = movers who are trained in classical and/or contemporary dance techniques.
For these studies I have chosen to work with: Tashi, Elisa, Artemise, Victor, Charlie, Kalin. |
It takes into account 3 STUDY SAMPLES:
|
|
|
Each of the three video samples below can be watched on this page in parts or in full,
simultaneously with one or both others.
simultaneously with one or both others.
Suggestion: play clip (1); after 1 minute start clip (2); after 1 minute start clip (3)

|
Watching clips simultaneously is an invitation for the reader to experience (in a different way / medium) the distribution of attention that the dancers are practicing during the studies. It may also function as an introduction to a sense of aesthetic, rhythmical and dynamic qualities as elements which can inform a composition at a later stage of the research.
